Overview
The Pediatric Interventional Radiology (PIR) Fellowship at BC Children’s Hospital is a one year training program to develop expertise in minimally invasive diagnostic imaging and image guided therapeutic procedures. The program provides excellent training in subspecialized pediatric IR, providing a broad exposure to procedures and pathology through patient evaluation and management in collaboration with other clinical specialties. Fellows will gain experience in a wide range of procedures, from standard to complex, including vascular access, angioplasty, embolization, vascular anomalies, thermal ablation, hepatobiliary and GI interventions. As a clinical subspecialty, fellows participate in multidisciplinary rounds and a consult service. Additional opportunities in education include case conferences, grand rounds and peer learning.
A fellow is expected to participate in a research or audit project, suitable for publication or presentation.
