Overview
The St Paul’s Diagnostic, Interventional Musculoskeletal & Spinal Radiology fellowship offers the opportunity to experience all the major facets of practical orthopedic, rheumatology, plastic surgery (upper limb) and neurological (peripheral nerves and spine) imaging, and an opportunity to work with sub-specialty units within these disciplines providing an excellent case mix of both advanced surgery and treatment with generalist referrals. St Paul’s Hospital is located in beautiful Vancouver and is affiliated with the University of British Columbia (UBC). The fellowship encompasses the broad range of musculoskeletal and spinal diagnostic and interventional procedures, covering all modalities relevant to MSK radiology in a well-equipped, cohesive and friendly department. Fellows can expect a high volume of musculoskeletal ultrasound, CT (including dual energy CT), SPECT CT and MRI (including 3T) diagnostic studies from a broad array of subspecialty referrers. MSK ultrasound intervention, CT-guided intervention, and a wide range of MSK and spinal fluoroscopic procedures.
We are in a position to accommodate most sub-specialty interests, including sports injuries, vertebroplasty, fluoroscopic injections and ultrasound techniques, along with research and publications. We encourage fellows to interact with our referring colleagues. The emphasis is on ensuring that the MSK fellow feels confident that they are capable of a full range of musculoskeletal interventions and diagnoses using the most appropriate modality, and hopefully enjoy the experience!
